REEL Life Science Success!
This year Ms Bohan’s 6th class entered the the ReelLIFE SCIENCE Challenge. The 6th class were tasked with making a short video (1-3 minutes) about their favourite science topic. With great enthusiasm—and with the support of Ms. Bohan and Louise Gallagher—the class produced a fantastic video titled “Bacteria in Farming.”
In November, we were thrilled to receive an email from Enda O’Connell (Stiúrthóir, ReelLIFE SCIENCE) informing us that our 6th Class pupils had won the ReelLIFE SCIENCE Agricultural Science Award in the Special Category Awards 2025. This is a magnificent achievement for our school, and we are incredibly proud of the hard work, creativity, and teamwork shown by all involved.
This year’s external judging panel was made up of the familiar faces of Mark ‘The Science Guy’ Langtry and his co-host from RTEjr’s Let’s Find Out science programme, Amy Hassett, a neuroscientist and science communicator based in UCD. They were joined by Ciara, Saoirse and Laoise Murphy from Presentation Secondary School in Tralee, who won this year’s BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition with 'Aid Care Treat', a medical assistance app designed to support emergency healthcare response.
Well done to Heidi, Ryan, Anwyn, James, Rían, Silver, Caiden, Joanna, Finéa, Izabelle, Caoimhe, Kieran, Fiona, Nikita, Emily, Anna Robin, Anna, Alannah, Ava, Charlie, Brooke, Yelyzaveta, Ryan, Daryl, Tommy, Kaiden, Maja and Alexa.
