In First Class, we have been busy exploring Length and Area. The children learned how to describe and compare the length, width and height of different objects. They also used everyday objects to measure the length of various items around the classroom.
We discussed the difference between length and area and practiced estimating and measuring the area that different objects in our classroom take up. We finished off this topic by doing a fun activity. We estimated how many sticky notes it would take to cover the area of the desk. We then measured the area of the desk using sticky notes and compared this with our estimate.
It turned out that it took more sticky notes than we expected! It was a really fun activity. 📒📏📏
