Last week, we had the pleasure of a two day visit from Fionnuala Maxwell from the Heritage in Schools programme.
The children participated in singing traditional songs from the locality and learned about various historical aspects of the locality through discussion, investigation, play, dance, examination of artefacts, pictures, recordings and old footage. They also listened to local stories and folklore from the Carrigallen and Leitrim area.
The children showed great enthusiasm over the two days and they enjoyed taking part in learning about the history of the local area. Thanks to Fionnuala for bringing the past to life and inspiring an interest in our heritage.
