Communities Energy Grant Scheme 2021

As part of their ongoing commitment to the school, the Board of Management looked into retrofitting the school lights and fixtures. The BoM applied for an SEAI grant to remove the old fluorescent lighting and install LED lights. The benefits of LED lighting include:

• Energy saving
• Longer lasting lifespan
• Improved safety due to lower heat emission
• More eco-friendly
• Superior light quality with instant, flicker-free illumination
• High quality, directional light which can be less intrusive on pupils with special educational needs/additional educational needs

The BoM were successful with their application to the Communities Energy Grant Scheme 2021 as follows:

• Beneficiary     Carrigallen National School

The value of the grant was €6,252.50.
