The Board of Management applied for Temporary Accommodation to the School Capital Appraisal Section in spring 2019. This application was approved by the Department of Education on 18 July 2019. The accommodation sanctioned was 1 x 80m2 Temporary Prefabricated Class for ASD Pupils.
Maguire Architects were appointed as the lead consultant for the project. The tendering process for a preferred supplier was then carried out by Maguire Architects. CabinPac were deemed to be the most economically advantageous supplier. The necessary Form of Acceptance (Form R1) was returned on behalf of the Board of Management following completion of the tendering process.
A Statement of Screening for Appropriate Assessment of a Proposed Development in Carrigallen was carried out by Whitehall Environmental in December 2019. The necessary Disability Access Certificate, Fire Safety Certificate, and Planning Permission were lodged with Leitrim County Council. Planning Permission was granted on 24 February 2020.
JAS Construction carried out the groundworks and installation of the concrete pads. CabinPac installed the prefabricated structure which came in two sections. Once the structure was in place and completed, the ramps and railings were installed.
The total cost of the works inclusive of VAT and fees was €41,609.
